Stainless Steel Wool Needle Mat
Stainless steel wool needled mat is available on continuous reels and can be supplied in die-cut shapes according to the customer's specifications and drawings. Also, it could be combined with other materials for muffler insulation, such as E-glass needle mat or silica needle mat.
A stainless steel wool needled mat is made by needle punching a continuous web of 434 stainless steel wool. This needle process compresses and compacts the stainless steel filaments, making them thicker and increasing their strength and density. A stainless steel wool needled mat can be wrapped around a perforated pipe or placed elsewhere in the muffler to resist heat, attenuate sound, and prevent leakage of other filling materials.
This product can be wrapped around the outside of a perforated pipe or placed in a designated location inside a muffler for:
