ECR Fiber Needle Mat (750°C)

Engineered from 100% boron-free ECR glass fiber and manufactured without any chemical binders, this needle mat delivers a continuous service temperature of 750°C with superior resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, making it the go-to thermal insulation solution for demanding automotive exhaust environments.

Product Overview

LFJ's ECR Fiber Needle Mat is purpose-built for applications where standard E-glass insulation falls short. Manufactured from 100% boron-free ECR grade glass fiber, this needle mat achieves a continuous service temperature of 750°C, 100°C higher than conventional E-glass while delivering exceptional resistance to acid, alkali, and moisture-induced corrosion.

The elimination of boron oxide from the glass matrix is the defining engineering advantage: without boron, the fiber resists chemical degradation far more effectively under the acidic condensate and thermal cycling conditions common to automotive exhaust systems. Combined with a 100% binder-free mechanical needle-punch structure, the mat maintains dimensional stability, minimal heat loss, and reliable acoustic performance throughout the vehicle's service life.

Certified to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, LFJ's ECR Needle Mat is trusted by automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers globally. Custom thickness, density, die-cut parts, and preformed pipe shapes are available on request.

1. What makes ECR fiber different from standard E-glass in exhaust insulation applications?

Standard E-glass contains boron oxide (B₂O₃), which reduces chemical durability when exposed to the acidic condensate and moisture common in automotive exhaust systems. ECR glass eliminates boron entirely, delivering significantly better resistance to acid and alkali corrosion — translating directly to longer service life in real-world exhaust environments.

2. Can LFJ produce ECR Needle Mat in custom sizes or preformed shapes?

Yes. LFJ offers full customization including thickness (3–25mm), density (100–220 kg/m³), roll width (up to 3,300mm), roll length (up to 150m), die-cut parts, and preformed pipe or elbow configurations. Please provide your drawings or OEM specifications for a tailored quotation.
