High-Silica Fiber Needled Blanket (1000℃)
Product Overview
LFJ Group's silica fiber needle mat is made from 100% high silica glass fiber with an SiO₂ content of over 96%, and withstands continuous temperatures up to 1100°C. It is produced from precision length-controlled chopped fiber, mechanically interlocked through a needle-punching process with no binder added at all, giving excellent thermal insulation, low thermal conductivity and good sound absorption. Available in thicknesses from 2 mm to 25 mm and densities from 80 kg/m³ to 220 kg/m³, it is lightweight, easy to cut and easy to form, with outstanding high-temperature durability.
This material is widely used in the semiconductor industry, automotive and motocycle exhaust systems , the petrochemical sector, protective insulation jackets, and a broad range of industrial applications where energy saving and heat insulation are required.
If your service temperature does not exceed 650°C, we recommend E-Glass Fiber Needle Mat as a more cost-effective alternative.
LFJ Group is a professional manufacturer of silica fiber needle mat, with production sites in Tainan, Taiwan and Qidong, China serving global markets. Please feel free to contact us for further information.

1. How does this compare to ordinary fiberglass? Do I really need high silica?
It comes down to temperature. Ordinary E-glass insulation tops out at around 650°C. If your surface runs hotter than that, glass mat will soften and break down, and adding thickness will not fix it. Silica mat is over 96% pure SiO₂ and withstands 1000°C continuously, so it covers exhaust systems, steam lines, furnaces and process equipment that glass simply cannot handle. It is also very clean, containing no binder at all, which matters in semiconductor and food-adjacent equipment. If your temperature is below 650°C, standard fiberglass is more economical and we will tell you so. Above it, high silica is what you need. Tell our technical team your operating temperature and we will point you to the right grade.
2. Will high silica needle mat shrink after installation?
Untreated high silica mat does shrink. This is normal behaviour for the fiber, not a quality problem, but it is exactly why a jacket that fits perfectly on day one can show a gap at the seam a few weeks later. LFJ addresses this by heat-treating the mat in our own factory before shipping, according to your actual requirement, so the shrinking is already finished by the time you receive it. Pre-shrunk mat typically moves only 1 to 3% in service, the exact figure is designed around your application, which means it stays the size you cut. If fit matters in your application, specify pre-shrunk material. It is the difference between an insulation job that stays right and one that quietly opens up.
